Objective

A Complete Design Flow, On Your Own Machines

We establish a fully functional Open-Source VLSI/EDA laboratory supporting Digital IC Design, Analog IC Design, RTL Design, Physical Design, Circuit Simulation, Layout Design, DRC/LVS Verification, Static Timing Analysis, and complete RTL-to-GDSII workflows.

VIDYUTT provides end-to-end VLSI laboratory setup, semiconductor design services and industry-oriented training. We help educational institutions, startups, research laboratories and government organizations establish modern VLSI/EDA laboratories using industry-standard open-source tools and Process Design Kits.

Scope of Work

Everything from a bare machine to a lab your students can log into and use on day one.

Linux Installation & Configuration

A standardized, reproducible environment on every machine in the lab.

Ubuntu Linux LTS installation
User accounts & system updates
Development environment & shell configuration
Networking & performance optimization

Open-Source EDA Tools

Both flows installed, integrated and verified against a working test design.

Digital: Icarus Verilog, GTKWave, Verilator, Yosys, OpenROAD
Analog: Xschem, Ngspice, Magic, Netgen, KLayout
Tool integration across the full flow

PDK Installation

OpenPDKs installed and wired into the toolchain, not just downloaded.

Standard cell & IO libraries
Device models
DRC / LVS rule decks
Tool integration & validation

Hands-On Training

Faculty and students taken through the complete design flow on the new lab.

Linux fundamentals & Verilog HDL
RTL design, synthesis & STA
Physical design flow
Schematic capture, SPICE simulation & layout
DRC / LVS verification

Technical Support

Six months of remote support after handover, so the lab keeps running.

Configuration assistance
Troubleshooting
Tool updates & guidance
Documentation

Everything handed over in writing

Installation notes, tool and PDK configuration, lab exercises and a validation report confirming the flow runs end to end on your machines.

The Toolchain

The same open-source tools used in real tape-outs – including ours.

Digital Flow
Icarus Verilog GTKWave Verilator Yosys OpenROAD

Simulation and waveform viewing through synthesis, place-and-route and timing analysis – a complete RTL-to-GDSII path.

Analog Flow
Xschem Ngspice Magic Netgen KLayout

Schematic capture and SPICE simulation through custom layout, DRC and LVS verification.

What You Receive

Deliverables for the 30-system reference build. Larger or smaller labs are scoped the same way.

Configured Linux environment on 30 PCs
Installed and validated EDA tools
Configured PDKs
Hands-on training for faculty and students
Documentation and a validation report
Six months of technical support

System Requirements

Per workstation. Modest by design – the open-source flow runs on ordinary lab hardware.

ProcessorIntel Core i3 or better
Memory8 GB RAM minimum
Storage256 GB SSD recommended
ConnectivityStable internet during installation

Timeline & Engagement

A lab is typically installed, validated and handed over in 3–5 working days.

What we need from you

Hardware, administrator access to the machines, and internet connectivity for the duration of the installation.

Scope beyond the configuration described here is quoted separately. Pricing depends on the number of systems and the training scope – request a proposal and we will size it to your lab.
